  1. The "clear things' is albumin. Blanche is a type of connective tissue, perhaps comparable to that of an umbilical cord in mammals. It is edible but not particularly attractive. I have only bothered to remove it, if I am on the ice and if the egg whites for the meringue whip or deity.
